Happy Mother’s Day
Proverbs 14:1 “Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.”
Being a Mom has been the greatest GIFT and challenge of my life; my most important “project” and the highlight of my mission here on planet Earth. If you are like me, it is the area that I have questioned myself in the most. Doubted if I was accomplishing all that God desired for me to accomplish. I’ve had those days that I wondered what I was doing and if I would “succeed”. Like you, friend, I have looked at other Mother’s with awe at how well they did this or that—leaving me feeling a bit insecure in my role.
But, a friend who happens also to be a counselor, reminded me that God placed my children under my care for a specific reason. He chose me to parent the children He placed in my home. He had lessons He desired for them to learn that He knew I could teach them that maybe no one else would be “perfect” for that job. Obviously, we are all sinners; we are all learning and growing as God parents us as His children. No child will grow up in a perfect home, but we can offer our children the GIFT of love, of joy, of patience, of salvation, of hope, of family, of an example of living God’s way, of being led and fed by the hand of our Father, and of life lived as God desires for us to live in a very dark world. We give them these GIFTS, but they have the choice of accepting our GIFTS and the GIFT of salvation. This is where we hand them back to God; this is where we invest time in our prayer life for them; this is where our greatest trust and faith must take over knowing that God loves them more than we do. Because it isn’t all up to us and we can’t be perfect. We need God for this impossible task of molding and training a life for God’s glory. “With men(women) this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
