I am so thankful to be part of a church that really cares about reaching out to children. I am thankful to be part of a church that has people in it who are willing to give up most of their entire week, and even all of their week, to minister to children. I am thankful to be part of a team that ministered in the lives of children through Vacation Bible School this past week. I am thankful to serve alongside of people who love God, love children, and love investing in the eternal souls of children. God blessed this week through the ministry of many individuals who served in Vacation Bible School. We had a very successful week of ministry, and I was blessed to be part of this wonderful team. Each day the children enjoyed learning new songs, led by Sister Rachel Zinzer, that went along with the theme of “Keeper of the Kingdom,” which was a blessing to witness. The children learned Bible truths through the teaching of God’s Word about the Armor of God, and I was honored to be part of the teaching team. Many of the children memorized God’s Word, and we pray it was truly hidden in their heart to stick with them for years to come. The children really were enthusiastic in taking part in the offering for buying paper for printing Bibles and many adults invested in helping the children raise several hundred dollars. Tonight, our offering will be added to the total the children raised to be sent to Lighthouse Baptist Press and Bible & Literature Missionary Foundation. Sister Meganne and her team did a wonderful job helping the children work on crafts; Sister Selina and her team helped them get exercise by playing games; Sister Gaylene and the kitchen staff provided a snack each day, and Sister Jacobson along with the nursery staff cared for several children so others could minister in VBS as well. We had a wonderful team of faithful servants investing in the lives of many children this week. God blessed us with many children being involved in the ministry of Summerville Baptist Church for the very first time, and we are praying that we will have the privilege of continuing to minister to many of them in the weeks ahead. I hope that the people of Summerville Baptist Church will always see the value in and be willing to invest in the lives of children through biblical ministry.
