In our “Heart” church tract, we make a statement so it is very clear to everyone that we are not a perfect church. We admit it so no one has the misunderstanding that we believe that we are perfect. We do not claim that we think we have it all figured out, nor do we presume that we are the authority on all things church related. We do know what God wants us to be because of what He says in His Word. We do understand the kind of church we do not want to become based upon the warnings of God to others. And we are committed to seeking to be the kind of church our Head leads us to be for His glory as long as He keeps us here on this earth. One of the ways that we are encouraged that we are on the right track with God’s will is by seeing the evidence of God working in the hearts of people through His blessings on the ministry of His church. When we see souls being saved, it is clear evidence that God is at work. We do not see a lot of people getting saved, but we are blessed to see God saving souls still in this place and in different ways and through different ministries. In recent days, we saw a soul make a profession of faith at the fair booth; we are thankful to God for His blessing on our faithfulness in that ministry. This year fewer people signed up to help, and it would have been easy to cancel it, but I truly believed it was God’s will for us to be faithful in our outreach there and we were and He blessed. Therefore, we are going to keep it up. In recent days, we also heard the testimony of another soul coming to Christ after reading the “Done” book they were given after visiting the church service. As they continued to attend the worship services and continued to read the “Done” book, God continued to draw them to Himself and they expressed faith in Christ as their Saviour. I am excited to hear they are interested in growing with the help of discipleship. I was also blessed recently when I heard two people comment on their decision of making changes in their Christian life as a result of God speaking to them through His Word in the preaching of it in the worship service. I have been blessed to see more activity in the invitation as well in recent days. It is clear God is working in hearts in this place, but the question is, are you letting Him work in your heart. I was speaking to a preacher this week as he was sharing the concern of a lack of God’s people responding to God’s moving in their hearts. My response to him was the same as a statement I made in a recent sermon, and God has confirmed the accuracy of it to me many times since saying it in that sermon. I believe God is still speaking and moving and calling in the hearts of people, the problem is too many are too distracted by too much to even hear Him or be sensitive to Him. If God is working in hearts around you and you are in the same place not sensing it at all, the real question is why aren’t you sensing it.
