God is Faithful and We should be Too

I am concerned that we too often forget just how faithful God is. God is faithful to His Word and we can trust what He says and believe that He will do what He says in His Word. This can give His true children a lot of peace and confidence when the things we see do not meet our expectations or anticipations in life. When we do not see justice taking place and we see things upside down as to how they should be, it is comforting to know that God sees, God knows, and God has things all figured out even if we do not. This truth of God should motivate His children to trust in Him and to obey His Word as we live life here on this earth. It is easy for us to lose heart when we are distracted by the chaos that is going on around us, because it gets our attention off of God, His greatness, and His faithfulness to His Word and His children. Another aspect of God’s faithfulness that should motivate His children to be faithful is the fact that God is faithful to His children. He is faithful to love His children, provide for His children, bless them, and correct them. God’s faithfulness to us as His children should motivate us to be faithful to Him. He faithful to us in many positive ways as He provides for us and blesses us along life’s journey as we walk with Him. These blessings should motivate our faithfulness to Him as we live in thanksgiving to Him for His goodness to us. However, His correction and chastening should also help us and motivate us to be faithful to Him. One of the causes for a need for revival is a lack of faithfulness among the children of God. We often see the sinfulness or lack of faithfulness in others and may even be grieved or irritated by it, but it is so easy for us to miss it in our own life. It is human nature and God’s children are not exempt, which is why we need God’s help to stay faithful to Him. This is why God has said so much in Scripture on this topic, because it is a genuine problem for us and we need many reminders. He is faithful to see our need for provision and for correction.  He is faithful to see our cause for blessings from Him as well as our cause for chastening from Him. He is faithful to see the small speck in the eye of those around us, but also the huge object in our own eye that is hindering our accurate vision of how things truly are in others. I fear that sometimes we forget that God sees us all the time, and He knows exactly how things are with us and everyone else as well.

Psalm 10:11-13
He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.
Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.
Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart,
Thou wilt not require it.
