   3. He is keeping His promise to His Only Begotten Son – Philippians 2:5-11
2. God confirms His promises with an oath – Verses 16 & 17
   1. The Old Testament covenant system – Genesis 3:21; 15:6-17
   2. The one flesh union in marriage – Genesis 2:23-24; Matthew 19:4-6; Ephesians 5:30-33
   3. The New covenant atoning sacrifice of Christ – Hebrews 9:11-25
3. God fulfills His promises Himself – Verses 18-20
   1. God’s covenant is unchangeable, but fullfillable – Matthew 5:17-22
   2. God’s hope is Eternal – Titus 2:11-14; John 14:1-3; Hebrews 12:1-3; Galatians 3:15-29; I Timothy 2:3-6; I John 2:1-2
   3. God’s only hope for any of us is Jesus – Ephesians 2:4-10; 1:3
